[5 to 12] Wi$h Li$t + alternate album covers ranked

Well, I'm still behind, but here I am trying to catch up before it's too late. The days of wrapping up our Tortured Poets era, listening to SiriusXM channel 13, and eating sourdough before the day we'll get 12 never-before-heard songs by the queen of the musicverse can literally be counted on one hand now. (Wow, it feels like just a second ago I was clowning over Reputation TV coming out on April 1st, and now we're getting TS12 about a year before I thought we would.) Wi$h Li$t is a song that I honestly don't have much to say about.

So, the title has a lot of fans intrigued, and many people... skeptical? I feel like this song could very much go either way for me, it could be my favorite song on the whole album or my least favorite. The title is interesting and actually had the Kelce brothers chuckling a bit when Taylor revealed it on New Heights, but it's amazing that we can even pull anything out of six letters and two special characters. I think it's pretty obvious what the theme of Wi$h Li$t will be - someone who only wishes for money. Sound familiar? Yeah, I think this is gonna be a song about 5(0++ 80r(h3++@ and 5(00+3r 8r@un, and how they profited off of Taylor's creations, and how she ultimately bought the rights to her own masters.

Of course, my parallel song prediction was Lyn Lapid - Producer Man, with the refrain of "what she couldn't see was he was in it for the money", a song critiquing the many people of the music industry who want to make money off of other people's talent. That's what I sort of think this song will be like. It'll probably feel very celebratory and glamorous, with a cross between the dark Reputation-y sounds of songs like I Did Something Bad and This Is Why We Can't Have Nice Things mixed with more of that Bejeweled-style sparkling production I keep predicting this album will have.

Songwriting time! Still no AI or leaks.

"Tiny bubbles in champagne
Spelling out your name
They've all gone away
Life is more than fame
I want happiness and love
I want friends that I can trust
I want control over my life
And I find it funny
That your wi$h li$t is nothing but money"
